Nursing Service In Carenage To Be Expanded

Dr. Roy Anduze, Health Commissioner, has rejected the proposal of the Superintendent of Education for the transfer of the former fire station at Carenage now used for Dept. of Health clinics.

In view of plans to extend the Nursing Service to the Carenage District on a daily basis, it would not be feasible to share this housing facility, Dr. Anduze stated.

He said the French Village is in great need of additional health services from the public health view-point, and it is the intention of the Department of Health to expand its services to this area for an eight-hour period from Monday to Friday.

The Education Department was seeking the building for its kindergarten school.
