April 19. (Per stage) You will have heard of Mr. Madison's motion on the important subject of Revenue, Finance, &c. This was intended to give a tone to the business--which will be unceasingly pursued. I shall attend the debates, and give you the earliest intelligence of every thing.

It is pretty certain, that Four of the six General Representatives chosen by this state, are Federalists. A gentleman from Albany says, that in the counties near that city, Judge Yates' friends are very numerous.

It is said, that the house late in possession of His Excellency Don Gardoqui, the Spanish Ambassador, is fitting up, in an elegant manner, for the reception of the illustrious President of the Federal Empire.

By accounts from New-York since the stage, we learn, that Congress were busily engaged in the consideration of the Impost Bill--which will be ready to receive the Presidential signature, immediately on the arrival of the illustrious Washington, who is expected in all April.

It is said, that there is a majority in the Hon. Congress, who are in favour of a removal of that august body from New-York to a more central situation.--It is, however, ardently hoped--and indeed there cannot be a doubt on the subject. the federalism and patriotism of the members who compose it being undoubted that this measure may be kept off, until weighty, momentous, and truly important concerns of the Union, shall first be determined on.
