Damaged School Property

For some time past boys and young men have entered the yards adjoining the various school houses of the city and have done considerable damage to the buildings. They seem to delight in defacing the school property and the Board of Education has determined to break up the nuisance by having offenders arrested. At a meeting of the Board last night a police officer who had arrested a boy who had broken several windows there was awarded $10 for arresting him in No. 13 school, and it is thought this will have the effect of making the police more diligent in their watch. Tax payers and boys or young men who are in the habit of trespassing or being wanton with property of the Board will be dealt with according to law. It is to be hoped that the police will keep strict watch over these buildings especially during the evening, and break the nuisance up.
