SCHOLARSHIP WINNER—Miss Gloria Elizabeth Gay, a recent graduate of South Fulton High School, East Point, Georgia, was the local winner in the National Scholarship Contest sponsored by the National Sorority of Phi Delta Kappa.

Mrs. Grace H. Racker, National Program Director of the National Sorority of Phi Delta Kappa, announced that $4,000 in new scholarships have been awarded for 1954 to high school graduates who are going to pursue teaching careers.

Ten other local students competed in Intelligence and Achievement College Entrance Examinations for the award. They were from Turner, Howard and Avondale High schools.

Miss Gay resides at 718 W. Howard Avenue, College Park, Ga. The sorority's Annual Founders Week ended on Sunday with a visit to Warren Memorial Methodist church which was followed by dinner at the home of soror Allen. Mrs. Grace H. Racker is National Program Director, Pauline B. Allen is local scholarship chairman.
