Extract of a Letter from Spain.

"It has been computed, that from the first commencement of the last rigorous proceedings against the Jesuits, whose credit has surprisingly declined since the conspiracy in Portugal; upwards of 20,000 of that society have from time to time remov'd to Paraguay in America, where it is well known, the head of them have all the influence of Sovereign Princes: but of late some advises have been receiv'd from that part of the world, which create equal uneasiness to the Spaniards and Portuguese."
