DU BUQUE VISITOR.

WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 3, 1836.

THE FIRST QUARTER.

The present number completes the first quarter of the Du Buque Visitor—the first and only public journal printed west of the Mississippi river and north of the state of Missouri. The editors embrace this occasion to tender their unfeigned thanks to the public for the very liberal support extended to them; and to offer their assurances that their efforts to deserve patronage will not be abated. It will be their aim and their pride to keep pace with the rapid improvement going on around them.

A quantity of smaller type than that heretofore used in the Visitor, has been ordered, which will enable us to give a greater quantity of reading matter. We hope to receive it in time for the next number.

We again respectfully invite original articles from our literary friends.
