Full Text
Miss Isabelle Roberts, daughter of the James E. Roberts of Chicago, has been teaching in Mexico this summer. As director of the village's library she provides interesting books for the Mexican youth and helps promote better reading skills.
Her weekends are spent traveling through many villages studying their various educational problems.
From thousands of applications all over the country she was one of the few selected because of her previous experiences in group work. For four years she was a camper and group worker at Circle Pines Camp. In college she belonged to various campus activities such as: the boating club, ice-skating team, Canterbury Club and many others. Upon graduation from the University she received a scholarship to the Fieldstone School for an eight week encampment session. She was also considered for this position because of her knowledge of conversational Spanish and her studies in Mexican history.
Last year Miss Roberts graduated from the department of education at the University of Minnesota. She is now a newly assigned teacher in the Chicago Public School System.
