B O S T O N, July 31.

A gentleman is come to town from New York city: he left it last Sunday night. We learn by him, That two vessels arrived there while he was in the city, in short passage from England: the report by them was—That the Definitive Treaty of Peace had been signed and finally settled in Europe previous to their sailing but whether it was brought over in either of these vessels, he could not ascertain—That one hundred transports left England before these vessels, bound to New-York, in order to convey the British troops, Negroes, Refugees, and other Tories, from thence to England, Nova-Scotia, and elsewhere, consisting, in the lump, to upwards of 25,000 souls.
