Galveston, Tex., Dec. 16.—Several dead bodies, so mutilated by fishes and crabs that they were unrecognizable, were found today in a pile of wreckage at the mouth of the Brazos river, according to a report brought to this city by the crew of the schooner Don't Care.
The bodies are supposed to be those of the crew of the tug Jamie, which disappeared more than a week ago. The Jamie carried six men when she left this port.
According to the crew of the Don't Care, the wreckage in which the mutilated bodies were found might have been that of the Jamie. The debris was charred and stained, and it is believed the tug caught fire at sea and the men lost their lives endeavoring to run her into the mouth of the river so that they might land.
