Town Schools Will Open On Wednesday

All-Day Session on First Day.-- Superintendent Announces Bus Schedules For Outlying Districts of Town

TIME SCHEDULE

All public schools in the town of Putnam will open on Wednesday of next week and will remain in session throughout the day. All high school students will report at the school at eight thirty o'clock in the morning and the pupils of the elementary schools will report at eight-forty-five o'clock.

All students residing more than a mile and a half from the school which they are planning to attend will be provided transportation in the morning and afternoon. According to an announcement made by Superintendent Carl M. Diefenbach this week, the school bus schedule for the coming year will be as follows: East Putnam and County Home route- bus will arrive at East Putnam at about seven-thirty o'clock; River Road and Gary District route-bus will leave the high school at about seven-forty-five o'clock; Killingly avenue and Putnam Heights route— bus will leave Israel Putnam School at about eight-five o'clock: the Country Club and Senexet Road routes— to be covered by taxi. arriving at the Country Club and Senexet Road respectively at about eight-ten o'clock.

Other announcements made by Superintendent Diefenbach this week in connection with the opening of school were as follows:

Children entering school for the first time should bring birth certificates.

Kindergarten children will all report in the morning on the first day. They will be divided into two groups and will report either morning or afternoon after the first day as directed. The younger group will report in the morning.

All High School pupils will be allowed 20 minutes for lunch. Only those living very near the school will have time to go home.

Eighth grade pupils in Smith street district will report to the Smith street School.

All pupils in Country Home District will report to Country Home and Sawyer District Schools.

All eighth grade pupils will be on high school opening and dismissal schedule, 8:30 and 2:15 respectively, with lunch period from 11:50 to 12:30.

Elementary Schools (Kindergarten grade open and close as follows:

Kindergarten 8:45-11:00, 1:00- 3:15.

Grades I through III, 8:45-11:15. 1:00-2:45.

Grades IV through VII, 8:45 11:45, 1:00-3:15.
