...eager to see inside of that apparently
lifeless combination of iron and
steel.

Prior to their attacking the motor,
the instructor had given a very clear
explanation of the workings of the
machine. Gas production, spark, carburetor,
transmission, gear, brake, and
other component parts had been explained,
and a very commendable effort
made to keep the subject as simple
as possible in order not to confuse
the youthful mind.

In his theoretical exposition, he has
been materially aided by some excellent
charts supplied by the Case corporation.
These are displayed on the walls of
the room and serve as valuable aids
in acquiring a theory in connection
with practice. The laboratory is otherwise
conveniently supplied with shelves,
racks, chemicals, and other accessories
of an agricultural study.

Even the merest tyro in the matter
of this special education, could not
fail to be impressed with its importance
and value, and with the way in
which it is being presented. The Democrat
takes this method of commending
the instructor; of felicitating the
pupils upon their opportunity to obtain
such valuable instruction free of
cost; and congratulating the school
upon instituting the course, and upon
the engagement of so competent an
instructor.
