Full Text

Captain Fabens, arrived in Hampton Roads yesterday afternoon from Baltimore, left that place on Saturday morning, informs us that he passed two schooners, one about sixteen and the other about twenty-four miles below Baltimore; sunk, their fore-top-sails just above the water.

We are very sorry to communicate the information which capt. F. further gives us, that there is reason to apprehend that captain Ferguson's packet was one of the vessels. Captain Ferguson left Baltimore on Friday about two o'clock, and that evening about seven o'clock there came on a heavy squall of wind, in which it is supposed these schooners were upset. From these circumstances, and that of captain Ferguson's not arriving, we greatly apprehend that the conjectures as to his fate are but too well founded. There were fifteen passengers on board the packet when she left Baltimore.
