GOLDEN STATE IS WRECKED

Fast Rock Island Train Crashes Into a Switch Engine.

Logan, N. M., Jan. 3.—On a switch track near here early yesterday the Golden State Limited of the Chicago, Rock Island & Pacific, eastbound, crashed into a switch engine badly, damaging both locomotives and severely injuring the engineers and firemen. The passengers escaped with a shaking up. Engineers E. E. Sallaway and J. W. Chandler and Firemen V. E. J. Calkins and W. W. Tucker, all of Dalhart, Tex., were hurt. It is thought they will recover.
