Howard Pupils in
Special Xmas
Event Today

'The
Nativity' a special Christmas
Carol Service, which will be
presented by the pupils of the David
T. Howard Junior high school at
four o'clock this afternoon at the
Big Bethel A. M. E. church, promises
to be an event that will attract
hundreds of Atlantans.

The presentation which is being
staged under the supervision of Mrs.
S. M. Burney and Miss Sujette
Fountain, will feature special costumes
and scenery. Miss F. M. Armstrong
is heading a committee of
teachers responsible for the arrangements.
She is being assisted
by F. H. Tharpe, Henry C. Lyons,
C. M. Gibson and H. J. Furlowe,
and the Misses H. M. Younge, A.
L. Chisholm, E. M. Wimbish and
E. N. Thomas.

Soloists will be Cornelia Meadows
and Howard Goodlett. The roles of
Mary and Joseph will be filled by
Mary Lucile Johnson and Samuel
Clark while Miss A. L. Lovejoy will
be the Locutor.

Others having special parts are
Jacob Hart, James Daniels and Alexander
Thompson, kings; Larry Williams,
Joseph Beavers, Monroe Arnold,
Costello Walker, Henry Davis,
Irvin Hightower and Aaron Johnson,
shepherds; and Lavada Johnson,
Edna Truitt, Imogene Terrell,
Roberta Cherry, Essie Roy Martin,
Jerelyn Hill, Bertha Johnson, Cleo
Ingram, Viola Perry and Dorothy
Pitts, angels.
