POLITICAL POINTERS

Billy McAdoo is preparing for a campaign to abrogate the two-thirds rule in democratic conventions and then to throw his hat in the ring for president in 1928.

Senator Cox has confessed that he will be a candidate for Governor. H. A. Davis, now in the East, is stirring up his friends for support in his favor for the U. S. House of Representatives vice Carl Hayden.

Mulford Winsor is looking with longing eyes for the U. S. Senate or to be governor of Arizona. He is looked upon as a candidate for the place of Cameron or Ashurst, while Hayden is trying for the same place. But if things don't look good by next Christmas he may decide to run against Cox, Sid Osborne and possibly Judge Stanford and McCluskey. If two or three more candidates can be got in the field to run for governor it is quite likely that Goy. Hunt will decide to squeeze in at the last moment and try to succeed himself.

Not much is heard about Cameron, who will doubtless try to be re-elected to the U. S. Senate with Carl Hayden in the race.

Dwight B. Heard has not been heard of, though it is hinted he intends to have another try if Hunt doesn't get in the race, for he will make things lively by the use of real campaign money, while most of the others will be running on "jawbone" and so-called press "releases."

From the degraded gush of the Phoenix Gazette about not prosecuting P. K. Lewis, the bank looter, we apprehend that he still has money to influence the press.
