The Tri-County Riding Club Annual Horse Show is planned for Saturday, October 2, at "Coleswood," home of Mr. and Mrs. D. R. Motch. Signs will be on the road from Scottsville and from Keene and events will get in full swing at 10:30 a. m.
A stallion exhibition is scheduled for special attention following the lunch period when Nydrie Stud Farm will show their celebrated "Occupation" by "Bull Dog" out of "Miss Bunting," winner of all four futurities. "Quiet Stop" from Nydrie and "Sea Marriage" from Coleswood Farm will also be shown.
Mrs. Harry Langhorne, of "Scotland Farm," is general chairman and Bernard Christensen, of "River Lawn Farm" will be ringmaster as he was last year. Mrs. Percy Drury of Orange, will be judge of the show.
The classes are, Equitation Beginner open to children 18 and under who are members of T C R C and or t classes. Pleasure Hacks, open to horses who have never won a blue ribbon in a recognized show, owned and ridden by senior members of the club. To be shown in ring it walk trot and canter Manners and performance as a pleasant hack. Leadline For children six years old and under. To be shown at walk on leadline. Suitability of mount, horsemanship and confidence of rider. Hunters, open to all. Fences not to exceed 3 ft. 6 in. Performance 60 per cent, manner and way of going 40 per cent. Game. Equitation. Challenge Cup to be won three times for permanent possession. Open to children 18 and under who are members of the club and / riding club classes. Saddling Race. open to children 18 and under. Horses to be ridden bareback to a given point, rider to dismount. saddle his own horse and return to starting line. Prize to first entry to finish course.
A brunswick stew lunch will be served by ladies of St John's Episcopal Church Auxiliary. with other refreshments for sale during the show. The afternoon performance will begin at 1:30 p m. with Children's Hunters Open to children 18 and under. The rules and regulations are 1-Entry fee will be $1 per class; 2 Trophy and four ribbons will be awarded m each class! One prize in cach game 3 No entiv fee games.
