Fort Jackson WACs Mark Birthday

FORT JACKSON, S. C - Approximately 300 persons from Columbia and vicinity were guests of WAC Detachment No. 2 at Fort Jackson Sunday, to participate in observance of the 3rd anniversary of the Women's Army Corps.

Open house inspection, a public program, exhibition of Arts and Crafts and an exhibition drill were parts of the day's program. The Ft. Jackson WAC began service at the post in September 1943. Members are assigned principally to the Fort Jackson Regional Hospital in office and wards.
