Extraordinary Escape.--Whoever has travelled the road between this place and Buffalo, must recollect that about a mile this side of Eighteen Mile Creek the road approaches the brink of a tremendous precipice which makes the mind of one shudder in passing by it, with the presentiment that certain destruction must await any living creature that should be precipitated from it. Yet, as extraordinary as it may seem a man travelling to the east with a one horse wagon, was last week tumbled off this precipice, together with his horse and wagon, and the man had not a bone broke, though he was considerably bruised, though not so much so but that he walked to Buffalo in a day or two afterwards. The horse was killed on the spot. The accident was caused by the horse in endeavoring to shun a mud hole, suddenly sheering so near the brink that a bank broke off. The height of the precipice, which has since been taken, is one hundred and thirty feet perpendicular, except about half way from the top is a projection of about ten feet, which undoubtedly had some influence in breaking the fall. We understand that the man resides in the vicinity of Batavia, and that the citizens of Buffalo contributed $50 for the loss of the horse.
