[From the Pen of the Rural Loiterer.]

ACROSTIC,
On Capt. Martin Parry.

Millions of angels guide thy joyous flight,
And lead thy footsteps to the realms of light;
'Round thy blest head the golden wreath they twine,
Teach thee the anthem and the song divine.
In fadeless bowers that shine forever gay,
No rising cloud obscures thy endless day.
Princes approach the tomb where virtue lies,
And here behold a name that never dies ;
Royal ensigns sink to oblivion's deep,
Roll a few years & they're a dusty heap;
Youth reigns forever where such virtues sleep.
