port that the Soils Laboratory had been restored to the appropriation bill. In these troubled political times, there necessarily must be a lot of angles to be considered. However, I think that most of those concerned think of this as a facility that represents the part that Government should play in our national picture and fits neither the picture of competition with free enterprise nor "pork barrel legislation." It is the final result of considerable planning and something that can be a very useful part of the northwest area.
