The pair of extraordinary fine cattle mentioned in a late paper, were sold in our market on Saturday last. The largest of them was a five year old, and fed but one season. He was publicly weighed by Mr. Fisher, the clerk of the market, and the weights are as follows, viz. -

This steer was raised in New-Jersey, near Princeton, and was fed by Laurence Seckel, Esq. of this city. The quantity of rough tallow in so young a bullock, is extraordinary; and as the proper object of publications of this kind is the improvement of our cattle for market we beg leave to add that after grazing one summer in our meadows, he was put into the stall about the 20th of November last. He was fed with ground Indian corn and cut potatoes, equal quantity of each mixed together, of which he eat twelve quarts at a mess three times a day: and to this was added, during the last six months about four quarts of oats a day.
Mr. Hopple paid two hundred dollars for this Steer, which was seemingly a great price; yet such is the liberality of the people of this city that he sold him in a few hours, to a handsome profit. Such people deserve such beef, and such beef deserves such people!
