Full Text

Considerable excitement was created last week, in Stonington, Ct., by the appearance of a mad-dog; which bit quite a number of other dogs in different parts of the town, and in the Stonington part of this village, before he was killed. It was reported that a girl had been bitten and died in a short time, but we have not been able to learn whether the report is true. Vigorous measures are being taken by the town authorities to prevent further mischief. All dogs found at large in the town are to be immediately executed, without the benefit of judge or jury. Two or three dogs were seen on the other side of the river this (Wednesday) morning, which were supposed to be rabid. It would be well to use proper precaution in this matter.
