LEGISLATORS AT SAVIN ROCK

According to the Hartford Courant the biggest thing in the line of Connecticut legislative reunions is scheduled for Wednesday, August 10, this date being fixed yesterday, when Senator Frank L. Stiles of North Haven, treasurer of the Connecticut Legislative club of 1909, and "Souvenir" William Henry Harrison Taylor of Putnam, secretary of the 1901 club, went to Savin Rock and made the preliminary arrangements with the proprietor of Bishop's Colonnade, where the eating and other exercises will be held.

The word "biggest" is used advisedly, as the reunion is not for members of the Legislature of one little year alone, but a joint reunion, which will bring together the members of all Connecticut Legislatures of the twentieth century--five in all, those of 1901, 1903, 1905, 1907 and 1909. State officers, members of state commissions and the state's representatives at Washington will also be invited, and it is figured that when the invitations go out about August 1, signed by the end men--William H. Taylor of the first Legislature in the group and F. H. Keech of Danielson of the last--they will go into 2,000 pairs of hands.

Taking a normal percentage of acceptances as representing the number who will say "yes" to the invitation, there will be 500 who will anchor their airships and automobiles, hitch their horses and get off the trolley cars at Savin Rock with an appetite. The time for the satisfying process to begin is 12:30 p. m., when an old-fashioned shore dinner will get into commission and begin to get into the human system. The dinner will have what is known as "extras,"

a word which, in this connection, covers a multitude of good things. If the number attending the reunion exceeds the estimate, no harm will be done as about 1,000 can eat in unison.

Tickets must be secured on or before Saturday, August 6, from Treasurer Frank L. Stiles of North Haven.
