NEW-YORK, July 6.

Capt. Duncan Brown, of the Sloop Eleanor of this Port writes to his Owners from Providence of May 22, That he sailed from Mon Christi in Company with Ship belonging to Salem in New England which mounted eighteen 9 Pounders, Cochran, Master ; and a Schooner belonging to Boston ; That the Day after they sailed, they were all taken by three Privateers, viz. A Schooner from Barbados, Gardiner, of 12 Guns; a Snow from Providence ( called the General Shirley ) Capt. Clifford, mounting 16 Guns ; and a Sloop from Rhode Island, Capt. Easton mounting 8 Guns ; And, that they were all likely to be condemned.
