TO BANQUET SOLDIERS
RETURNING FROM BORDER
Business Men Hold Meeting to Make
Arrangements For Honoring Mem-
bers of Company "C"
on
Their
Return.
Quite a number of the local citi-
zens met last night in the Directors
room of the People's Loan, Savings
and Deposit Bank for the purpose of
taking steps to honor the members
of Company "C," the local military
company, on their return from bor-
der duty at Eagle Pass, Texas. After
discussing the matter at length, it
was decided to give a banquet in
their honor, and the banquet will be
held either the evening of their ar-
rival or the following night.
Mr. Martin W. Smith was named
a committee to look after securing
the band to meet the returning sol-
diers, and Messrs. George W. Wool-
ford and Earl W. Orem were named
to look after the program.
Mesdames Josiah L. Kerr. Wil-
liam N. Andrews. Walter M. Harper,
Edward Seward. John Nichols. An-
drew J. Foble. and Miss Mary Bal-
mer were named to look after the
floral and culinary arrangements.
