He Pawned the Guns.

Colonel Wm. H. Robertson, colored, commander of the National Guard, of South Carolina, has been suspended from the military service of the state. One day last week, Adjutant and Inspector Watts was advised that Robertson had pawned seven Springfield rifles, belonging to the government, to a Charleston pawnbroker. General Watts investigated the matter, found the rifles in the pawnshop and satisfied himself that Robertson had gotten money on them. General Watts recovered the rifles and suspended Robertson from the service of the state. The Negro declares that it was all a put up job; but the evidence is against him.
