Halt Plan To Submit Budget To Assembly

Governor Alexander, who conferred with Dept. of Interior officials on budgetary matters, during his recent trip to Washington, declared upon his return that he had changed his mind about submitting a budget to the Legislative Assembly this month, but will concentrate on preparing budget documents for submission to the new legislature.

An attempt will be made to have the proposals ready so that the new legislature may review them informally a week before session convenes in January 10. The proposals will cover the period January 10 to June 30, 1955, and from July 1, 1955 to June 30, 1956, it was said.
