The Royal Theatre, newest in Roanoke Rapids, which was scheduled to open yesterday, will open for the first show Christmas afternoon at 2 o'clock.
The heavy snowstorm and freezing weather of the week-end made it impossible to lay brick and concrete, otherwise the new theatre would have opened when first announced by Contractor Lee Wheeden.
The opening show will be "Bad Boy", a first run picture, featuring James Dunn and Dorothy Wilson. New popular prices of 10 and 15 cents will be the vogue at the new house, which will bring back some of the big hits of the year from time to time, but will also carry a program of first runs as well.
After tomorrow, show time at the Royal will be 1:00 and 2:30 in the afternoons, 7:30 and 9:00 in the evenings. Thursday and Friday of this week bring "Devil Dogs Of The Air" with James Cagney and Pat O'Brien in the stellar roles.
