Oklahoma Honors Its First Negro Junior Rotarian

Madill, Okla., Jan. 14.--(Special) -Marvin Jeffers, 16-year-old high school senior was chosen a Junior Rotarian for the Month of December here.

Jeffers is the first Negro in the history of the city to be thus honored, and a check made shows that he may be the first in the state to be given the Rotary honor.

The Junior Rotarian is selected on the basis of citizenship, scholarship and general attitude by the high school faculty.

The school superintendent, Jimmie Fox, said Jeffers was the unanimous choice of the body.
