The Latest Feminine Freak.
[Boston Gazette.]
A freakish diversion on the part of Boston daughters of wealth and leisure is the dressing of dolls. They have waxen effigies made to order, reproducing in miniature their own shapes as laced and girded for the putting on of their outer robes. Even to the features and complexions, a reduced counterpart is produced. By means of such a doll, the artistic effects of textures, colors and styles can be tested. To such an extent was this idea carried that a complete scenic representation of a bridal party at the altar was constructed weeks before a wedding.
