Townsend Plans To Keep Fighting

PORTLAND, Ore., Aug. 3. (U.P.)—Terming the federal old age pension plans a "gesture which makes me sick," Dr. Francis E. Townsend indicated today that there would be no retreat in his own campaign for $200 monthly pensions to all persons over 60.

The government plan contemplates advancing at least $15 a month to needy aged.

Dr. Townsend presented his views on the pension movement before 12,000 followers at Jantzen Park beach. Several of the Townsend club members fainted during the rally.

The sponsor of the old age revolving pension plan urged his supporters to campaign for election of congressmen who would vote for the Townsend bill in congress. He predicted it would be approved at the next congress.
