FIRE.

About 12 o'clock last night, a fire broke out in the new and unfinished three story brick building of Mr. Anderson, on Water street, near the corner of Walnut, which, with the exception of the walls, was entirely destroyed. The House was nearly completed, and the carpenters were at work in it, the day previous. The adjoining houses were saved, by the exertions of the firemen, from any injury.

Strong suspicions are entertained that the fire was communicated to it, in the cellar, and must have been the work of an incendiary. The building was insured to the amount of $3,000.
