Albany, Ga. — (SNS) Korean Prisoner of War Pfc. Leroy Broome who returned to the United States hale and hearty after 32 months in a Red China Prison Camp, where he underwent inhuman treatment had to come home and according to reports was attacked Saturday, as he was leaving Albany to make final arrangements for his wedding at the Third Kiokee Baptist Church, which was scheduled to come off Monday, May 3. Pfc. Broome was beaten so badly he had to be hospitalized at Fort Benning and the wedding had to be called off. The bride-elect, lovely Miss Willie Mae Porter of 626 Broad Ave. took the news of the forced postponement calmly. Pfc. Broome made a personal explanation Wednesday when he got a pass from the hospital to come to Albany to set a new wedding date which will be announced later.
