Wrongly Reported.

The remarks attributed to C. J. Faulkner, Jr., at the Berkeley county Democratic Mass meeting, which makes him read Judge T. C. Green and other Jacob democrats out of the democratic fold, having been copied by the Wheeling Standard and Intelligencer and other respectable independent and republican journals, it is but just to Mr. Faulkner to say that he did not use the language imputed to him, nor anything approaching it. What Mr. F. did say—and all he said—was, that Judge Green's name had been referred to in the meeting discussion being possibly presented before the State Convention, asking his nomination for the Court of Appeals, he thought that Judge Green's repudiation of the nominees of the last State convention would preclude any consideration of his claims by the coming State convention. This was merely an opinion expressed by Mr. F. upon the spur of the occasion and in a somewhat heated discussion. Mr. F. like ourselves, extends to Gov. Jacob, and all other democrats, whether they were for or against the party of the late governor's election, the hand of fraternity, coupled with the hope that no circumstance may ever again arise to cause an estrangement.—Mart.
