Ben Mathews appeared in Recorder's court yesterday in answer to charges of operating an automobile while under the influence of an intoxicant, and hit and run driving resulting in damage to property.
Mathews pled guilty of driving while intoxicated and his plea was accepted.
He was fined $50 and costs, and restitution to D. C. King of $500 for damage done to King's automobile, or 60 days on the county farm in default, and driving license denied to operate a car for one year in North Carolina.
Mathews was given a 10 day stay on the judgment and privilege of a $200 bond.
