Full Text

Misunderstanding.—Either through a misunderstanding or the precipitancy of the escort at the military reception of the Richmond Blues, the reply of Captain Patton, of the Blues, to the welcome of W. W. Seaton, Esq., at the depot, besides the speech intended to have been delivered at the Fair by J. H. Bradley, Esq., were most unceremoniously cut off.

An acknowledgment was certainly intended to have been made by Captain Patton to the neat and felicitous speech of Mr. Seaton, and the fact of none being made might make the Richmond company appear to a disadvantage, and we state this fact as due to them, that the command to march was given entirely too soon, and the Blues might rightly have wondered into whose hands they had fallen.
