Easily the Biggest Solon of Them All.

The Darlington Republican-Journal:

Assemblyman E. D. Parkinson of Lafayette county easily is the weightiest man in the lower house, and in the senate as well, but he supports his ponderosity rather in the form of solid flesh than pressible tissue. Nor is he by any means short. When he negotiates the bathroom scales the hands on the dial flies round to 260 and trembles nervously at that point. He has been heavier—but that is another story. He, a democrat, was big enough to be elected sheriff in a republican county, and so it seems that he carries a good deal of weight, other than avoirdupois, with the people of his bailiwick. Assemblyman Parkinson is a half brother of our Professor J. B. Parkinson and of General A. C. Parkinson and is their junior by some years.
