An unusual case in surgery engrosses at present the conversation of the Faculty. A patient was admitted into the Hospital of Charity, for the stone; he laboured under excruciating pain; and the stone was found, on examination, to be so enormous that the physicians and surgeons thought proper to call in assistance. The largest stones hitherto extracted have not weighed more than seven or eight ounces; this weighed twenty-six, notwithstanding which the man felt little inconvenience from it until the last fortnight.
