Iowa.

The people of Iowa Territory, are agitating the subject of their admission into the Union as a state. Among the papers published in that Territory, we notice "The Territorial Gazette," "Iowa Argus," and Bloomington Herald, have declared in favor of becoming a State. The reasons urged by the people of Iowa in favor of asking admission into the Union, are equally applicable to the people of Wisconsin. They complain that they have not that weight of power in the Union which their relative importance demands—they have no voice in international questions in either house of Congress pertaining to their interests, or the welfare of the country at large. And however efficient and talented may be their delegate, he occupies only the station of a supplicant, and not a legislator. An admission into the Union, would entitle the territory to two senators, which would give to the people a numerical power in the Senate of the United States, equal to the "Empire State" of New York.
