The Sulphur Springs valley boosters motorcade to the Tombstone Helldorado celebration got under way at 11 a. m. yesterday with an imposing number of cars from Douglas. The long stream of cars was added to at every town on the route from McNeal to the county seat and at Gleeson a number of cars from Willcox joined the procession so that those in charge were able to report that the entire valley had sent representatives and that the motorcade apparently accomplished its purpose of taking a message of good will to the Helldoradoans.
The motorcade had been planned by the combined forces of Kiwanis and Lions here in Douglas aided by a hearty cooperation from the people of the Sulphur Springs valley. The Boy Scout band led the long parade and played in McNeal, Elfrida, Gleeson and finally gave a concert in the main street of the city of Tombstone.
Everyone who joined the motorcade went with the idea of viewing and participating in the celebrations of the most historic city in Arizona and the town which holds the memories of one of the greatest silver mining camps that ever existed. Those who returned to Douglas last night reported that the celebration was one of the vast possibilities in every respect and a revelation of what can be done with cooperative action and proper advertising of an event with a genuinely thrilling historic background.
