About 70 new users of electricity were added to Trico's growing list of subscribers when service was opened this week to residents along three new lines on the reservation.
The longest line, stretching from North Komelik to the George Balaam residence near Covered Wells, has about 45 users. The line includes Anegam and Santa Rosa Village and services a mine and trading posts as well as residences.
More than a dozen users were added when the Big Field extension, on a spur from Sells opened. At the same time, 15 more residences had electricity with the completion of the line from Topawa to Vamori. In all, about 56 miles of power lines were opened to use.
At the same time, Trico announced that users who do not pay their bills by the 10th of each month will have their service discontinued without further notice. Bills are distributed and are due immediately after the first of each month. Payment may be made by check or money order. It is necessary that payment be made promptly in order that maintenance of existing lines and construction of new lines be continued, a Trico official declared.
