Deputies Quell Calipat Squabble

CALIPATRIA, Feb. 8.-Officials prepared here today to prevent recurrence of an incipient riot which occurred here yesterday when a crowd of 600 persons mobbed federal trucks loaded with food to be distributed to indigents by the FSA.

An unidentified small boy was trampled down by the crowds swarming around the trucks attempting to get the first bundles handed out in the weekly distribution of food.

The boy was taken to a physician to have his hand

FSA officials called officers to maintain order and force the crowds to remain in line and wait their turn. No arrests were made. There was plenty of food for everyone, FSA officials said.
