B. W. Vallat Of Bartholomae Oil Corporation Announces Plans For Dredging Season Of 1936

B. W. Vallat, superintendent of activities at Gold Run. of the Bartholomae Oil Corporation, which carried on dredging operations on Gold Run and work on the Bluestone, who arrived by airplane a day or two ago, declared that considerable work is outlined for this coming mining season. Reports from Teller, he said, were to the effect that the dredge was in fine condition after the past winter, and that as soon as the breakup will allow, operations will commence. Mr. Bartholomae expects to visit the scene of operations located about 18 miles from Teller this summer. Arriving with Mr. Vallat in Nome by plane was George Hellerich, who will be in charge of explorations for the company. He is to commence an active program of drilling and thawing thruout the ground owned by the company, which extends several miles along the Bluestone and Gold Run creeks. Mr. Vallat expects to fly to Gold Run within the next day or two, he stated yesterday. Arnold Thommen, well known dredge man, will accompany him to become associated with the workings there and also Larry Stephansen, who will drive his team of dogs to Teller and Gold Run.
