Mrs. J. S. W. Thomas was arrested in Cedarville Saturday afternoon on a warrant issued by Justice Jesse C. Davis, charged with keeping a disorderly house on Mill street, this city.
Mrs. Thomas, familiarly known as Maud Thomas, came to this city from Vineland about six weeks ago and rented a house from Justice Davis, on Mill street. Complaints soon came pouring into the ears of the Justice about his tenant, and Mrs. Thomas, on the 18th, moved out of the house under cover of the night. Her goods were taken out to a "speak-easy" near White Marsh, and then complaint was formally made against her and she was arrested by Constable Carman, who picked her up in Cedarville. She does not live with her husband. Last Monday she was given a preliminary bearing by the Justice, and held for a further hearing at some future time.
