Intensive Work
In Rural Schools

Rural schools of Imperial county
are each spending a month in intensive
work emphasizing writing and
spelling, according to Mrs. Lura
K. Tyler, rural supervisor whose
work covers this part of the county.
The special work is in the nature
of a follow-up of the Stanford
Achievement tests, given throughout
the county's rural schools recently.
The work, which is being started
in each school by the rural supervisor,
each pupil will be graded again.
Following a month's intensive
work, each will be graded again.
Later the plan will be followed
with other subjects.
The school authorities are decidedly
pleased with the results obtained
by the Stanford Achievement
tests and findings are proving of
decided value in indicating the
standing of each pupil Mrs. Tyler
said.
