Full Text

We understand that the 8th regiment under the command of Col. Jack, is ordered to attend the U. States' Commissioners, who will shortly commence running the boundary line as designated in Jackson's treaty. This measure of precaution is deemed necessary in consequence of the hostile threats of the Lower Creeks, who appear determined to oppose the Commissioners in the prosecution of their labors. Nicolls, who we doubt not is a British emissary, has been industriously engaged in inflaming the minds of the savages against us—he has succeeded too well. if the poor wretches knew that the factious advice of this man only tended to precipitate their destruction, common prudence and sad experience would teach them the fatality of their conduct and its dangerous consequences. Would it not be an act of justice to the Creeks to offer a suitable reward for the apprehension of Nicolls?
