Governor Stands By For Call to Capitol
Governor Ralph M. Paiewonsky kept alive faint hopes for the Virgin Islands home rule bill last week and is standing by to fly to Washington in case further hearings are scheduled.

GOVERNOR (Continued from page 1) Thursday discussing routine items with Budget Director Morris DeCastro and other key officials. He also met with top executives of the Harvey Aluminum Company who were in St. Thomas for the day to discuss progress of the $25 million processing plant on St. Croix. Results of the meeting were not disclosed, but it was reliably reported, however, that negotiations for a large tract of land there have broken down. Harvey officials are reported stymied by a private land owner who is asking what has been described as "a prohibitive price" for the property. Negotiations are continuing, however, in an attempt to reach a settlement.
