A CORRECTION.

Upon the authority of one of the stewards, the Record announced last week that Rev. Brooke had sent in his resignation, and that a lack of interest and inadequate salary was the cause. The following note from the preacher himself corrects the statement:

"MR. Editor: Would you permit me to make a slight correction to your local in reference to my resignation as Pastor of Evening Shade Class?

"Your first reason given was the right and only reason for my resignation—lack of interest. Money matters had not a thing to do with it. Evening Shade was paying as well or better than any place on the circuit, except LaCrosse. I would preach for Evening Shade, or any other place if they would come out, for nothing, sooner than preach to empty seats for a fortune."

Respectfully,
J. S. BROOKE, P. C.,
Evening Shade Circuit.
