JULY 22.

The disturbances yesterday in Covent-Garden, and its environs, occasioned by the Westminster election, were a disgrace to every civilized country. At Charing-Cross, the Cannon Coffee-House was most furiously assaulted, and considerably damaged by an outrageous mob. In James-street, the same dreadful game was carried on, and the Crown Public-House, nearly pulled down. In almost every street and alley leading to those parts, nothing but rioting was to be seen, contest and fighting between the opposite parties, and innocent persons passing by, knocked down.
