Now that the Republican and Democratic presidential nominations have been made, and the candidates selected are inimical to the cause of the free coinage of silver, a more than passing interest is manifested throughout the West and in portions of the South in the forthcoming convention of the Peoples Party which convenes in Omaha July 4th. The most important plank in the platform of the third party will be that in relation to silver, and if a representative man of recognized ability is nominated for President, the ticket will draw a great many votes from both the old parties, and may have an important bearing upon the result of the election.
